In 1979, two young men  who were childhood friends and riding buddies decided to go into the motorcycle business. When looking for their business purchase, they found Snyder's Cycle Sales, a Suzuki dealer. Immediately they had to find a location to put their business. The only one they could find was a 1800 sq. ft. building in an alley next to the post office owned by a relative. This served as their place of business for only six months. In the fall of 1979, they found an old building on St. Rt. 35, the busiest highway in the area. With 3500 sq. ft., their work space doubled, and they had a parking lot with 10 parking spaces. Another move of all the bikes, parts, accessories, and tools was accomplished in the first year.

By 1983, with the business growing, Mark and Brooke were able to take on Honda Motorcycles and Honda ATVs. A 1200 sq.ft. storage building was added and upgrades to the building and service department were also accomplished. In 1986 they constructed their biggest project yet: a 5000 sq. ft. showroom and parts department adjacent to the existing building. The old show room became the used motorcycle department and the new building became a showcase for all of the new products (one of the nicest in the area for its time). Honda Suzuki of Jackson added KTM sport motorcycles to its line up in 1993.  Bombardier ATVs were added in 1998. Which brings us to 2001 when it was necessary to take the next step. Jackson built a bypass in 1994 for St. Rt. 35 to Honda Suzuki of Jackson off of the main highway. Brooke and Mark purchased 13 acres of land with direct access on and off St. Rt. 35 and contacted Retail Design Associates to design a state of the art 20,000 sq. ft. building in a style fitted to the region. Moving in in April of 2003, eight miles from the old location, proved to be a major undertaking. But with much help, it was done within a week and only two days of business were lost.

Upon moving to the new location, Polaris ATVs, Ranger and Eton were added to the growing list of franchises. In 2004, Honda Suzuki of Jackson added California Sidecar Trikes and Escapade trailers to its growing Gold Wing business.  We serve a tri-state area.

Promotions include an annual open house held in the spring to kick off the selling season. In 2003, Honda Suzuki of Jackson held a ribbon cutting ceremony with dignitaries from the Chamber of Commerce, bank officials and over 200 people in attendance. 2004 was the 25th anniversary celebration with a bike show and cruise in. This drew 175 bikes and 300 people on a rain-threatening day. Hot dogs and soft drinks were serviced with donations going to the charity "shop with a cop" for poor children. More of these bike shows and cruise ins are to be scheduled in the future (one on 11/6/2004) due to the success of prior promotions. Honda Suzuki of Jackson donates its 13 acres of the ASI ATV rider training for classes to educate ATV riders in safe operations of their machines. Road service pick up is provided to motorcyclists who break down on local highways.

In 2004, Brooke and Mark were given the Entrepreneur of the Year award for their achievements in business by the Jackson area Chamber of Commerce. Cruise ins will become a big part of our involvement in the future. We are blessed with a large parking lot that can be used for sports promotion. Service will schedule service checks and tire changes for our customers to be done while they wait so that travel to and from Honda Suzuki of Jackson is kept to a minimum and riding time is at a maximum. Pick-up service is available to our local customers and transportation back to town is also available.

Febuary 2005, Honda Suzuki of Jackson has been selected as a TOP 100 DEALER for 2005 from Dealernews Powersports Magazine.
